What does your broker cost you?

Everyone shows hit rates. What reaches YOU depends on your spread, and nobody does that sum for you. Here it is.

We measured on 867 completed signals, using tick data, what spread and commission really cost. Together with the measured stop distance, that lets you work out what would be left at your broker.

Where the numbers come from

The sum is deliberately sober: it can come out saying a subscription is not worth it for you. Then that is what it says.

Common questions

How do you convert a spread into R?

1 R is the distance from entry to stop. Measured across all completed signals, that distance is a median of roughly 1.3 percent of the price. So a spread of 0.02 percent costs about 0.015 R – regardless of account size or currency.

Why not simply compare brokers against each other?

Because we only measured our own broker's spreads on real tick data. For other brokers we would be passing on marketing claims. So you enter your own numbers – they are in your trading platform.

What does a red number at the bottom mean?

That at your position size and spread, a subscription does not pay for itself. We would rather say so beforehand.
